Frameless Shower Enclosures
Surrey’s larger houses — whether period or modern — frequently have bathrooms with the space and specification to justify a well-made frameless shower enclosure. The absence of visible framing keeps the room clean and uncluttered, and with accurate fabrication the glass fits properly against whatever surface surrounds it — stone, tile, or solid plaster — without the need for trims or finishing strips to cover gaps.
We make every enclosure to the specific measurements taken during our own site survey. The glass is toughened throughout to UK safety standards, the fixings are chosen for longevity, and the installation is carried out by our own fitters. For properties further into the county, we plan our visits efficiently and keep travel-related delays out of the programme wherever possible.
Crittall Shower Enclosures
Crittall-style shower enclosures work particularly well in Surrey’s older properties — manor houses, Arts and Crafts homes and converted farm buildings where there’s a logic to using a steel-look profile alongside original ironwork, stone floors and period joinery. They also suit the high-specification new-builds that are common across the county, where the Crittall aesthetic has become part of a broader contemporary language.
Our screens are made using narrow-section powder-coated matt black profiles, glazed with toughened clear or reeded glass. Everything is made to measure, and we’ll discuss glass type and profile options with you on site before confirming the specification. For larger or more complex projects, we’re able to provide detailed drawings and coordinate with other contractors on the programme.
Glass Balustrades
Glass balustrades are common across Surrey’s larger residential properties — on staircases in period houses where the existing balustrade has been removed as part of a renovation, and on the terraces, raised decks and garden steps that are a feature of many properties in the county. The practical benefits are clear: a glass balustrade provides the required enclosure without blocking light or views, and — when properly installed — requires very little ongoing maintenance.
We install channel-fixed and post-mounted systems across Surrey, with glass toughened or laminated to meet the structural specification. External work uses marine-grade stainless fixings throughout. Structural calculations are carried out as part of the process, and where planning consent is required — particularly in Surrey’s numerous Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and conservation zones — we can advise on what tends to be acceptable and what will require a formal application.
