Made-to-measure glazing for homes and commercial interiors throughout Kensington and the surrounding area. Frameless enclosures, balustrades, heritage-style screening and more.
Bespoke Glazing in Kensington
Kensington’s white stucco terraces, garden maisonettes and mansion flats present a particular set of demands for any glazing contractor — high ceilings, generous proportions, ornate plasterwork, and interiors where the finish has to be right. We’ve been working across W8 and the neighbouring postcodes for over twenty years, and we’re familiar with what Kensington properties require: a tidy job, considered detailing, and no loose ends.
Whether you’re a homeowner updating a master bathroom, a lettings agent coordinating a refurb, or an interior designer fitting out a high-spec apartment, the approach is the same — we survey properly, quote clearly, and get on with it.

Frameless Shower Enclosures
Frameless shower enclosures suit Kensington bathrooms particularly well. The large en-suites found in mansion flats and stucco terraces often have the space to do something properly considered — and a well-made frameless enclosure, fitted accurately to the room, does exactly that. There are no frames to clutter the sightlines, no channels to collect limescale, just a clean run of glass that sits neatly within the tiling or stonework and stays there.
Each enclosure is made to the measurements of your actual room. We don’t approximate from a standard size or add unnecessary trims to cover the gaps. The glass is toughened throughout, the fixings are solid and discreet, and the finish is the kind that still looks right in ten years. We carry out our own site survey, produce our own fabrication drawings, and install everything ourselves.
Crittall Shower Enclosures
Crittall-style shower enclosures fit naturally into Kensington’s architectural context. The slim black frames sit comfortably alongside period features — Victorian tilework, marble, aged brass fittings — and they work just as well in the more contemporary interiors that have been introduced through refurbishment. The appeal is the combination of definition and lightness: a framework that gives the shower area a sense of enclosure without making the bathroom feel smaller.
We make our Crittall-style screens using narrow-section profiles in a powder-coated matt black finish, glazed with toughened clear or reeded glass. Everything is made to measure. For Kensington clients working with interior designers, we’re happy to liaise directly on specification, provide samples, and work to a programme that fits around other trades.
Glass Balustrades
Many of Kensington’s period houses have staircases that genuinely deserve attention — wide, well-proportioned, with a first-floor landing visible from the entrance hall. Replacing timber or iron balustrades with glass panels can transform these spaces, drawing light through the building and making a feature of something that’s often left as an afterthought. It’s one of the more impactful single changes you can make to an older property.
We install channel-fixed and post-mounted glass balustrade systems throughout W8, using toughened or laminated glass to suit the structural requirements of each staircase. For terraces and roof gardens — of which there are many in Kensington — we install fully weatherproofed external balustrade systems with marine-grade stainless steel fixings. Where planning consent is required, we can advise on what the local conservation officers typically accept.
Why Kensington clients use KP Glass
Kensington is a conservation area, and much of W8 falls under the jurisdiction of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea — one of the more attentive planning authorities in London. Listed building consent, conservation area regulations, and detailed design expectations are simply part of doing business here. We’re used to working within those constraints and know what tends to get approved and what doesn’t.
Our London office in Ealing is straightforward to get to from Kensington — we can usually be on site for a survey within a few days of enquiry. There are no subcontractors involved in our work: the same team that surveys a job is the team that installs it. We also carry out our own fabrication, so there’s no reliance on third-party production lead times.
We work regularly with architects, interior designers and main contractors across W8, and we deal directly with homeowners too — the level of service and quality of work is the same either way.
