The Project

Bespoke Steel Arched Windows

For this elegant London residence overlooking Clapham Common, KP Glazing supplied and installed a collection of bespoke steel-look arched windows, carefully designed to complement the property’s traditional architecture while introducing a distinctly contemporary feel.

The result is a beautifully balanced combination of heritage-inspired detailing, slim black framing and generous areas of glass, creating a light-filled living and dining space with a strong visual connection to the garden.

A Statement of Architectural Detail

The arched openings were an important architectural feature of the property, so the glazing needed to feel like an integral part of the building rather than an afterthought.

KP Glazing worked with the existing architectural proportions to create bespoke arched steel-look glazing, incorporating carefully positioned horizontal and vertical glazing bars together with the distinctive curved detailing above.

Finished in a deep black, the slim profiles provide a strong architectural outline against the light interior walls while echoing the property’s traditional London character.

Designed Around the Space

The central opening incorporates a glazed door, creating a practical connection between the interior and landscaped garden.

The surrounding fixed arched glazing maximises natural light and allows the garden to become part of the interior experience.

From the dining area, the glazing creates an uninterrupted visual relationship between the kitchen/dining space, terrace, swimming pool and garden beyond.

The carefully proportioned glazing bars also provide the steel-framed aesthetic the client wanted without compromising the elegant proportions of the original architectural design.
